MacGuffin's Curse Part 3: City Hall- Where All the Fuck-ups Happen

Holy crap, Judy has a fast turn around. Well let's head to City Hall to continue on our helpful spree.

But first, we learned walls break. And this is a screen with suspiciously nothing!
...And that's it... huh. This is going to bother me.

Continuing on. I move the box out of the way because I'm anal and you never know when you need a clean escape window.

THERE HE IS! That's the bastard ruining everything!
And he's bullying the mayor! He won't even let him sit in the extra cushy chair.
Confirmation of evil-ness straight out of the ass's horse's mouth.

Every choice is an illusion of choice as we can see in- sorry, flashback to one of my stranger literature classes.
Hey you got your political science in my philosophy.
Not shown: Alphonse storming off through the north door, completely unaware of our existence. And since the mayor isn't really interested in us, let's follow him!

I'm more than a little confused. How come I have to do puzzles when Alphonse doesn't? There's only so much money can do, you can't bribe boxes. How far do his evil powers extend!?...oh wait, he designed this shit, he probably has a master override or something.

Who invited the steel boxes back!?
Alright so what we have here is the panel by the door changes where the other panel is. The second panel controls the lasers of the particular room it's in. The left button puts a bridge over the water. The right button also controls lasers.

And here's where my brain decided to take a vacation. My brain sat there going "THIS IS UNFIXABLE RESTART" after i got to this point. 5 seconds of looking at this and anyone would say "Wait, no, this is totally fixable just push the block." I restarted. I'm an idiot.

What makes that restart extra painful? I was on the right track.

Hooray I did it backwards! Grabbing the safe and continuing on.

It leads to this puzzle. Panel on top controls where the other panel is. Panel currently on bottom controls the lasers. When it teleports up top, it control the bridge. The big button stabilizes the bridge into one big bridge.

My brain: "Welp, we've done it again. This clearly isn't right time to restart."
Actual Solution:

(not pictured me fixing the positioning of the box.)
The moral of the story is my brain goes extra stupid without caffeine.
Here we see the locked door we need to get into... and nothing else. Time for backtracking!

Backtrack to this room and hop through the window to get to this door.
Do a simple puzzle to get the safe and grab the key card labeled 3/4. Doing things backwards is fun.
We head back to the lobby. Let's try to find #2 next. I pick the left door.

Meet the One-Way Door. I would bitch about this but then I remembered that's how those kinds of doors work. These writers think of everything!
The puzzle itself has a lot of moves but isn't too hard. Unlike...
Unlike...
my dreaded nemesis, Sliding Block Puzzles! I have and always will suck at these. And to add insult to injury, that's keycard #1.

Doing it wrong!

Did it right!
Alright, let's see what puzzles the final path has to offer.

None. Ok then. (There is a safe in the bottom corner, but its super easy to get to).

And now backtracking to forward track!

HE KNOWS

That's right get closer to the moonlight...

I don't see what your wife- OH right right

Well Lucas, if it wasn't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all.

Well I guess his wife did have something to do with it. And Rotti Largo Alphonse is a very bitter man. Well a bit more stalling and...

Alphonse does not take the news of our mystical powers well and tries to attack us.
Pictured: Alphonse getting a chandelier to the face!
Not Pictured: A quickly moving cutscene where we try to make sure Alphones is ok, because we still have morals. What is the result of the cutscene?
We may have accidentally transferred a teensy bit of the curse to Alphonse...WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE

Strump takes this news very well. Because Strump is a badass.

Just in case you forgot Alphonse was evil, HE'S REALLY EVIL.
Going outside and talking to Strump tells us we need to get back to our Gypsy friend.

Thank you! Now something tells me that Judy A) wants our evidence and B) can get us into the library.

Hooray, we just got a...
THAT'S NOT A KEY!

And with the shocking revolution that everyone in this down may be more than a little crazy, we leave our investigation until next time.
